Responsibilities include: protocol development, contributing to development of data collection tools, developing team scripts for patient approaches and explanations of acupuncture for acupuncture naïve patients, workflow documentation, screening appropriate study candidates in EPIC EMR, discussing and clearing potential candidates with ED providers (MD, DO, PA), candidate approaches with Clinical Research Coordinator team members, acupuncture treatment, and documentation of treatment, outcome measures and patient perceived adverse events in RedCap EDC software.

Communicate and coordinate with nursing and physical therapy staff regarding patient treatment outcomes to assure continuity of care, liaise with patient families to explain acupuncture, its benefits, possible side effects and address any concerns expressed, provide inpatient treatment with acupuncture and bodywork for neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation, including participation in clinical research of acupuncture during acute stroke recovery and rehabilitation.
