Completed doctoral research in the area of structure-based drug design with the aim of finding new antibiotics targeting Tuberculosis. Determined a large number of crystal structures of mycobacterial proteins, including structures of complexes with inhibitory compounds. Designed and performed biochemical assays to characterize these proteins and evaluate the inhibitory activity of the compounds. The position also involved teaching in the form of lectures and laboratory practicals.

Developed protein purification protocols for using IMAC columns with reducing agents. Also worked on a collaborative masters thesis project involving challenging protein purifications.
