I am an architect and principal in BDP’s Glasgow Studio and have delivered major projects in a variety of sectors including health care, research, education, workplace, conferencing, housing and retail. My combined experience in the life sciences and healthcare sector allows me to bring valuable cross sector knowledge to projects. I am the business director of BDP Scotland and also the Chair of BDP Rotterdam. I am experienced in leading multi-discipline design teams in the development and construction of complex projects from inception to completion; and have been managing and realising projects using Building Information Modelling for over a decade. My recently completed projects include the Learning and Teaching Building and the Technology and Innovation Centre for the University of Strathclyde. Other current projects include the new School of Engineering for the University of Edinburgh and the BioHub Project on the NHS Foresterhill site in Aberdeen. Previous work includes the Leeds Hospital of the Future, the Nanjing Medical University, the Glasgow Southern General Hospital, the SFT Joint Pilot School Project in Eastwood High School and Lasswade High School, Buchanan Galleries as well as the Capella Building in Glasgow.Since Sept 2022 I am also a Member of the COVID-19 Adaptations Expert Advisory Group for the Scottish Government. In broad terms, the role of the group will be to consider and make recommendations on interventions and innovations that will build resilience to COVID-19 and other infections in the built environment in non-clinical settings.
