CurrentProject lead Flemish Green Deal Inland Navigation for De Vlaamse WaterwegInland navigation, like many other sectors, faces the great challenge of becoming more sustainable: reducing emissions, promoting environmentally conscious mobility and achieving a modal shift. The ultimate goal? A zero-emission logistics sector and therefore also zero-emission inland navigation by 2050. Because that will benefit both the climate and local air quality. In order to achieve this, De Vlaamse Waterweg nv, Department of Mobility and Public Works (MOW), Port of Antwerp-Bruges, North Sea Port, VIL, Koepel Binnenvaart Vlaanderen, ITB and the Federation of Belgian Inland Navigation drew up the Flemish Green Deal Inland Navigation, a participative process to take steps towards greener inland navigation together with the sector.
