● Summary: Architect and developer of a Java/Kotlin back-end and Android apps. Working remotely.● Technology: Kotlin, Java, Swift, HTML, CSS, InuitCSS, Javascript, Android, Linux, Debian, c3js, ssh, event sourcing, Netty, SSL, Let's Encrypt, Gradle, ...In a 4-person startup focused on iBeacons, I was the architect, sole developer and ops for the backend, web server, Android development and tooling. In other words, everything technical except iOS development - although I wrote a tool that generates Swift code.I mainly designed and developed a shared infrastructure for our projects. Our platform of choice was the JVM. Most development was first Java, and then Kotlin.I created several modules with a focus on simplicity, correction, performance and easy integration :● A simple event-sourced data store● Internal Kotlin libraries for serialization, CSS, HTML, project building and Android development● A simple reusable Netty-based Web and REST API server● A code generator for Java and Swift data structures, serialization libs, and our API's client libraries● Automated server provisioning● Automated SSL certificate management● Push-button server deployment.Regarding client-facing projects, I worked on :● An API server for one client's iOS app● An internal browser-based dashboard for that client (using c3js and InuitCSS)● Two Android applications. Both app projects were cancelled before making it to the app store.I mostly worked remotely, using Slack and Trello for communication and coordination within the team.

● Summary: Maintenance, improvement and evolution of four Java-based projects: three Java/Eclipse GUIs (>500KLoc, one project using SQL Server/Hibernate) and a Java radio driver.● Technology: Java, Eclipse, ClearCase, SQL Server, Hibernate, Ant, SOAP, XML, XML-Schema, Netconf.I am working on project STC-E, a middleware software system meant to serve as a common basis for the networking for all battle information systems used by the French Army.As a developer in a 20-person team, I am in charge of the two largest Java subsystems of the project: a military radio driver and a large Eclipse RCP network monitoring application. Both make heavy use of XML for data exchange.I was also in charge of a SQL Server-backed Eclipse RCP troops deployment configuration application for six months.After a year of heavy development, my work now mainly consists in maintenance and evolutive programming on these systems. Besides corrections and evolutions, I have been adding lots of enhancements to the code in order to improve its robustness, readability and testability.In addition to these, I also developed a new Eclipse RCP application from scratch.

● Summary: technical lead for a 6-person Java-based project.● Technology: Java, OSGi, ClearCase, XML, XML-Schema.I worked as a software engineering contractor on project STC-A, a joint Thales-Cassidian project aiming at developing a Java application framework for the new generation of battlefield information systems of the French Army, employing over 40 developers.The technical environment was all Java, more precisely OSGi for the services and Swing for the GUI.I was the technical lead for the Translator subproject, where I designed and developed a generic system that converts technical messages between many military systems that wildly differ both in syntax and semantics. The system ended up flexible enough to accomodate very frequent changes in conversion rules (sometimes several per day), while being fast enough to run real-time validation of message input by the operator despite the complexity of the validation rules.I was hired by Cassidian while on this project.

● Summary: two research projects, one in Java and one in C, that both ended up used in industrial projects.● Technology: C, Java, Eclipse RCP, CVS.Development of innovative geometry algorithms for seismic fault modelling in two projects: one written in C, one in Java as an Eclipse plugin. Work was done in small teams for both projects.Both were used in industrial products.

While completing my PhD, I was a part-time teacher for students of all levels at the university, from first to fifth-year students. I mainly taught formal specifications, but also delivered courses on computer architecture fundamentals, network security and compiler theory.
