I started to get involved with MedinCell as soon as I understood the tremendous potential of its technology, carried out by a strong patient-oriented vision that revolutionizes the way to deliver health. I have been instrumental in the strategy definition of the company, as well as its corporate development, designing its first alliances.Medincell long acting injectable bioresorbable formulations make drug efficient by improving their adherence, drug release profile and side effects, and allowing for local treatment. We design drug long acting injectable biodegradable formulations with unprecedented speed and quality, patient friendly subcutaneous injections and disruptive lost cost. Our values and culture have been essential to our success : power of the group, innovation for a purpose, adaptability, trust, transparency and directness, go beyond, and have fun. I personally meet every new employee to explain them. I was lead investor at Nanobiotix (Euronext: NBTX, Nasdaq: NBTX), board member from 2004 to 2009 representing my investment fund, then independent board member from 2013 to 2023

I was one of the pioneers in France investing in medical devices, after having understood how crucial these would become in modern health, and I co-founded and defined the strategy of the largest European Medical Device fund (€80M) then. As a Venture Partner, I was a board member of >15 Europe and US companies.My three main investments successes where SWT (document management software), Earth Decision Software/Paradigm (disruptive oil reservoir & geology & flow modeling) and Nanobiotix (disruptive oncology biotech). They were instrumental in the performance of the two funds Matignon Technologies I and Matignon Technologies II.I learned about technology companies, their do's and don'ts, investing, and evaluate technologies going deep into data.

Being a consultant at BCG led me to develop skills in strategic thinking in a very stimulating environment... I also created BCG’s digital weblab for the Paris’ office, a virtual e-strategy initiative, which has strongly impacted BCG’s methodology.I learned about: structuring thoughts (and thinking in slides :-) ), making sense out of often fuzzy qualitative and quantitative data, finding rational solutions in complex environments, analyzing and developing strategy, time based management.A great book from the time: "Boom, Bust and Echo" from the Canadian demographer David Foot about the impact of demographics on economics and trends.

Over my years living in Canada, I had the opportunity to give my career a twist by managing a fishing lodge and registered floatplane airline in Ontario. In this exclusive isolated high-end resort, I managed 40 employees, welcomed guests and organized the logistics of over 200 monthly floatplane flights. This also was a great human experience, working with native Indians and other underprivileged employees, and providing them with professional reinsertion.I optimized the complex flights logistics, and trained the personnel to fit with the expectations of a very high end American clientele. I often qualify this period as my “Indiana Jones years”.I learned about: entrepreneurship, the basics of running a company, empowering people, cash flow, delighting customers, and the value of freedom, fresh air and wilderness.I was definitely on my flow curve as explained in the great book "Flow" by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, the book I have recommended most.

I was hired directly as an expatriate in their high potential young hires program by the headquarters of Lafarge, at the time the world #1 cement manufacturer and a prestigious French company to work for.My first assignment was in the Canadian branch of Lafarge. I soon became manager of the 20 employee quarry. I learned about self managed teams, a very important experience that led to developing my Human Resources philosophy. I also lead a very successful transformational quality project.I learned about: self-managed teams and the power of low hierarchy, benefits and drawbacks of large organizations, statistical process control, Deming's principles, Kaizen continuous improvement, quality by design, make sense again of fuzzy data sets to unleash their power, and got my blaster's and quarry manager certificate along the way :), yes!A great book from this time " Dr Deming, The American who taught the Japanese about quality", By Rafael Aguayo
