In our daily jobs in La Réunion Island, a country of sea and mountains, we always need to assess the risk management, when kabatic cyclonic tropical conditions hit our fragile coastal areas, societies, ecosystems and economies, so people can be safe. We also need to operate very resilient, clean and self-sufficient systems, integrating solar and permaculture philosophy, and to practice through a circular eco-economy, for our seas to regenerate and for Earth to sustain us all. In our remote western Indian Ocean area, cooperation between islands and the World is essential for everyone. We learn from very engaged people all around the World, often piloting outstanding and inspiring initiatives.
