Flanders Make is the strategic research centre for the manufacturing industry. We have establishments in Lommel, Leuven and Kortrijk and work together in a structural way with research departments of the 5 Flemish universities. Our purpose: realising a top-level research network in Flanders that delivers full support to the innovation projects of manufacturing companies. This way, we want to contribute to new products and processes that help to realise the vehicles, machines and factories of the future. My contribution : initiating and managing B2B collaborations and R&D projects with local manufacturing companies in the field of Industry 4.0/5.0, artificial intelligence, predictive maintenance and vision technology.

Stimulating, initiating and coordinating collaborations between local companies and the technology units of imec, the world-leading nano-electronics research center. Focussing on microsystems, photovoltaics, nanotechnology and biomedical electronics. Collaborations can be in the form of feasibility studies, the integration of off-the-shelf available components, the design of new components and systems, prototyping or low-volume production. Managing a community of companies and academic research teams to stimulate innovation in the field of smart microsystems.Creating partnerships with innovative companies in Flanders by integrating or enhancing microelectronics technologies in their products or processes.Main responsibilities :- Dissemination of expertise and technology through articles and events- Active networking and prospection- Technology transfer leading to business development- Establishing and managing sector oriented company platforms- Coordination of bilateral and collective projects with local innovative companies

Main field of interest : reliability of micro-chip back-end metallisation, with a focus on Cu/low-k interconnects in 180 nm to 40 nm CMOS technologies.Research activities on micro-chip reliability in the frame of imec's Advanced Interconnect Programme, and in close collaboration with imec's core partners Intel and Samsung.Research results presented in journal papers and at the most important international conferences in the field of micro-chip reliability and micro-chip interconnects (IRPS, IITC).

Research activities on the integration of semiconductors and magnetic superlattices for non-volatile computer memories (magnetic random access memories - MRAM).Research results presented in numerous scientific journal papers and at international conferences.
