I started my career in finance at the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers in Malta, before moving on to spend 17 years in the tourism sector as a Finance Manager where I was a senior management team member and responsible for the finance functions of a busy and profitable hotel, which involved preparation of monthly management accounts & reporting, implementing & ensuring compliance to internal control procedures, budgets & variance analysis, dealing with banks, auditors and other bodies, overseeing of payroll procedures & maintaining controls as necessary, together with the implementation and responsibilty for company IT systems.In 2008 I was offered a position as a Finance Executive with the world's largest food and Nutrition company, Nestle. Here my duties involved preparation of financial reports and documents, analysis of accounting data and reports, administer data related to the procurement and control of capital assets, issuing of IT reports and statistics to Nestle Italia, administer data related to product costs and/or selling prices,handling of foreign suppliers accounts including payments on due dates and reconciliations of such accounts and to co-manage, together with Supplies dept., stock taking. On returning to the UK in 2009, I took up a position as a Sales Director with a Document Scanning firm, before setting up Med Consultancy (UK) Ltd., specialising in Records Management Consultancy for the medical sector. In partnership with John Main, who has over 30 years of experience in Document Management, we offer a service to the medical sector by specialising in consultancy for BS10008:2008 and BIP0008, relating to Legal Admissibilty of Electronic Documents, together with offering a Document Scanning Service and Document Retrieval Software.Recently I decided to return to accountancy and secured a position with Warners Group Publications, a highly successful family run printing & publishing company, firstly as an assistant accountant and then as a Credit Controller responsible for the timely collection of payments for the several exhibitions that Warners run throughout the year.
