Principal areas of specialisation include undertaking regulatory and governance investigations. Advising on, prosecute and defend regulatory cases on behalf of clients and provide advice in relation to appeals / judicial review - in addition to which I provide training to clients and in-house legal teams in areas of regulatory best practice, application of the Education Act, Human Rights Act and Judicial Review. As a Solicitor-Advocate I present cases and defend appeals before a wide range of judicial and quasi-judicial tribunals. Given my experience, I also provide advice to a range of clients in the public and private sectors relating to regulatory policy and procedure, governance and compliance. I have been seconded in-house to a number of clients, most recently as Head of the Legal and Fitness to Practise Directorate of a national regulator. As Training Principal at BL I have responsibility for delivering the training contract programme for the firm's 24 graduate trainees in accordance with best practice, BL and SRA requirements.
