Key Responsibilities & Contributions:* Expertise in the trade of debt, derivatives, and equity securities issued by public and private over-leveraged companies seeking to restructure out of court or through bankruptcy. Diligently track borrow costs, trade breaks, and other prime brokerage related issues pertaining to each position.* Design financial models for up to 50 different companies within project portfolio, collect and valuate data obtained through Bloomberg terminal to monitor asset performance. Execute comparable company analyses (CCA) to assess the value of company assets through the calculation of financial, leverage, and cash flow ratios.* Evaluate all aspects of corporate capital structures as well as reorganization plans, exchange offers, and bond covenants.* Draft performance financial statements, EBITDA estimates, and conduct valuation analyses to determine if assets are fairly priced within the market.* Maintain direct communication with portfolio company representatives, including company CFOs and Investor Relations Managers, throughout the collection of research. Participate in conference calls and maintain correspondence through email to gather details necessary to formulate research opinions and investment recommendations that enhance returns while managing risk.* Examine quarterly financial reports and other documents prepared by external analysts in the performance of bottom-up fundamental research. * Collaborate with Senior Trading partner in the execution of trades. Regularly consult with a variety of traders, sell-side analysts, and industry experts to support research and trading efforts.* Keep abreast of current events pertaining to the performance of numerous companies on a daily basis, searching for any indication of change in the price of securities. Monitor news developments, company filings, and court dockets for relevant performance details.
