Manufacturing Engineer
Manufacturing Engineer
Duties included evaluating & documenting existing manufacturing processes of a first generation (developmental) mobile range satellite system. As manufacturing took place, I photographed, analyzed & improved logical build order for production processes. I helped author and improve work instructions (WI’s). This was acheived by refining manufacturing processes using tools such as solid-works to implement best practices to production areas.● Identified production operations that lacked production aids or quality inspection points. I worked with critical core groups (engineering, quality, production and management) to introduce new manufacturing aids (t-tools), develop new processes, reduce cycle times & install quality check points to WI’s. This helped production techs improve manufacturability and quality of product. ● Conducted and performed REDI’s, (Review Engineering Design Intent). A REDI is conducted by the manufacturing engineer, working alongside critical core groups to witness a production build in a “controlled” environment from beginning to finished product. Conclusion of a REDI, resulted in dramatically improving the existing WI.● Assisted in laboratory experimental exercises using high power laser diodes.● Changed location of disassembly process resulted in improving safety of staff/product and reduced cycle times of those operations by an estimated 20%.● I created WI to disassemble finished product. This provided production techs complete instructions how to tear down a finished trailer which had been returned by the customer. The WI provided a valuable resource for retrofitting product and proving to the end customer (US military) that we successfully standardized our process during a recent tour.
Sr. Engineering Associate Iii
My experience centers within technical writing. One of my primary roles at Honeywell was to create or update product drawings, engineering bulletins, engineering specifications, test specifications, white paper creation and on occasion, manufacturing method sheet creation/revising. Updates to these documentations included combing through and revising notes (e.g: make references to MIL-STD130). Aerospace Engineering bulletins and related test specification includes redacting data and implementing new protocols or processes when errors or better processes had been identified. I have experience working alongside engineering to assist in the creation of white paper investigation for internal or external submittal. Other duties include supporting various areas of product engineering. Those duties include: program support of various US military aircraft platforms, revising technical drawings as mentioned above submit engineering change orders (ECN’s) using tools such as Team Center or Aero PDM. ECN’s were written to comply with or exceed US Government MIL-SPEC standards. My current experience extends to supporting Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) by executing daily needs of production lines, reducing or resolving product flow disruption quickly. Finally, I helped manage and support a team of about ten individuals, internal to Honeywell Albuquerque. This team vetted every customer purchase order accepted by the Albuquerque site to provide customer deliverables for US military aircraft platforms. In this role, triage team was responsible for ensuring ability to build, test and deliver product to customer on time. Through my twenty two year tenure with Honeywell I have gained valuable insight and knowledge how to efficiently execute day-to-day operations using industry core tools & standards. I am seen as a self-motivated, self-directed individual who thrives in busy environments.
