I am a senior level Industrial Designer with over 15 years of design and project management experience. I have worked for various design consultant firms and have been awarded a number of design awards and patents. Currently, I am the Design Manager for UT Brands. I supervise and direct the internal and external creative resources within our Hong Kong based company.My employment over the years in the arena of Industrial Design has afforded me extensive experience with all phases of the Product Design and Development and Product Marketing process from drafting proposals, patent searching, concept generation, sketching, engineering, rendering, prototyping, manufacturing, distribution and marketing. Computer software programs most often used are Solid Works, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite on the creative side and Podio and Microsoft Office on the management side. The critical aspects of each phase also entail maintaining an interactive relationship on design projects with clients ranging from individual inventors to Fortune 500 corporations. For business, I have travelled extensively, including across mainland China and Hong Kong to manage product manufacturing and market products in the international housewares shows in Hong Kong and Chicago. Many of my designs have been featured in these venues. In the process, I have been awarded many design awards as well over 30 design patents. My experience has given me the tools to both create and manage all aspects of the design and manufacturing processes. I have 23 years of experience and am a Baccalaureate graduate of the unrivaled school of Industrial Design (I.D.) at California State University Long Beach, whose design program is among the most prestigious in the nation. As a student I was the recipient of the Industrial Design Society of America Student Merit Award.

Guest Lecturer to the College of Business and Economics

I supervised and directed three industrial designers and one sourcing specialist. My duties included:Establishing Evriholder’s first New Product Design and Development Department and providing direction and motivation for creative efforts of new products.Creating business plan formulation, competitive marketing analysis, budgeting and product positioning.Ensuring new products shipped on time and achieved cost objectives for all major retailers.Developing protocols and process for our USA Design office to communications with internal departments as well as our Hong Kong and Chinese manufacturing development teams. Working closely with the Chinese manufacturers to meet tight time constraints and ensure products meet our requirements as well as pass product testing protocols for our mass market customers.Managing the efforts between marketing, product development and packaging design with our internal and external manufacturing and engineering vendors.Working closely with product designers, marketing, sales and manufacturing from concept ideation to manufacturing. Negotiating development terms, tooling costs, and unit costs on projects. Solving safety and quality issues as well as specifications for testing and analysis.

I supervised 8 industrial and graphic user interface designers along with three mechanical engineers and three prototype designers. Served as Project Manager and senior designer to such clients as Bausch and Lomb, Intralase, Becton Dickinson, GE Medical, Magtek, Eclipse and others. My duties included all phases of design from market research to concept generation to CAD engineering drawings as well as interfacing with clients and toolers before, during and after the manufacturing process.
