As the Senior Education Advisor to Microsoft’s emerging market team, Dr. Christopher Ashford has over 20 years of executive management experience, providing oversight to numerous national-scale, social impact investments with donor institutions, NGOs and industry partners across the globe. His accomplishments range from changing the landscape of education for over 5 million youth through customized education reform and applied technology in Africa, to creating entrepreneurship opportunities for 100,000 women and out-of-school children in Asia, to coordinating emergency relief assistance in education, health access, housing and legal supports for 1 million refugees effected by conflict in the Middle East. These technical experiences have positioned him as a global thought leader, business advisor, and market strategist across a variety of start-up and nationally scaled initiatives. As a field leader he has tackled some of the most intractable challenges of our time working with digital solution partners focusing on establishing innovations in basic education access, market-driven job creation, youth engagement, and host government accountability. To date, Dr. Ashford has directed over $300 Million in program assets in complex markets such as Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Pakistan, and the United States.
