Over the five years at DMLKJEC, I had three primary roles: math instructor, senior team lead over math, and the master scheduler. As a math teacher I taught algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, and pre-calculus. As the Senior Team Lead over math, I was in charge of coaching and formally evaluating all of the middle school and high school teachers while also delivering monthly professional development learning sessions. As the Master Scheduler, I lead a team of 4 counslors to create the master schedule and student schedules for 1200 middle school/high school students making sure to coordinate the legal requirements of special education students, english language learners, and general graduation requirements.

For the school year of 2011-2012 and 2012-2013, I taught Algebra 1 and the AVID elective at Collegiate Preparatory Academy (CPA) and took over the Master Scheduling in the 2012-2013 school year. These were the founding years of CPA as one of the new innovation schools in the Far Northeast Denver part of the turnaround school initiative.
