About Christopher Barrett

I am a research scientist and currently a PhD candidate at the University of Kansas. With over a decade of applied experiences using quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods to answer complex multidisciplinary questions, I am looking to apply my skills in professional entrepreneurial settings. I have extensive experiences with multi- and interdisciplinary collaborations, working with different laboratories, as well as public and private corporations. I have skills in chemistry, bioinformatics, study and survey design, publishing, networking, and managing teams. I am lead and supporting author on published articles, book chapters, and have presented work and project findings to different audiences across the US and abroad. Human health is determined by genes, environment, and society acting in concert. I believe the greatest challenges facing contemporary biomedicine are evolutionary in nature. From chronic and metabolic diseases, resistant bacteria and viruses, and collapsing environmental biomes to name a few. Long-distance views on human health can directly address these dilemmas and provide the best active and proactive choices to make. There is increasing dependence on innovations in laboratory techniques and artificial intelligence to address these same issues. No matter the sophistication, how, where, and when we apply these innovations in our clinics, businesses, and communities are indelibly human decisions to make.
