•Responsible for directing the monthly and year-end closing process•Create monthly and audited consolidated financial statement relied upon by various stakeholders•Prepare internal management financial statements and related analytics•Recommend and develop analytics for divisional and consolidated financial statements•Recommend and implement changes in accounting practices and polices for optimal efficiency and compliance with GAAP•Direct functional maintenance and enhancements of PeopleSoft 9.1 General Ledger, Asset Management, and Treasury modules •Train University and Hospital finance staff on functionality of financial systems•Responsible for monthly financial reporting results and analysis relied upon by division management, and corporate management• Develop or maintain internal and external financial report layouts in PeopleSoft General Ledger for Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Hospital, and Jefferson University Physicians•Build Queries, Scopes, and Trees used in reporting and analysis by all Jefferson entities•Direct functional maintenance and enhancements of the University’s PeopleSoft General Ledger•Perform a timely and accurate reconciliation of all bank and investment accounts including follow up to ensure reconciling items are cleared each month•Direct analysis and settlement of intercompany transactions between University and Hospital•Serve as the point of contact with campus business administrators for financial information needs and navigation through financial information systems•Manage accounting and reporting related to pension and benefits plans •Responsible for valuation and analysis of Patient Receivables and Allowances•Direct monthly accounting and trust administration related to endowments and deferred giving plans
