About Christopher Baumgartner
One of my favorite stories I share with clients happened to me a few years ago. A mid-sized manufacturing firm, with a small IT support staff (IT Director plus one individual), was in need of some help. The biggest challenge facing the current support staff was the number of Help Desk calls in a given day. Each staff member would work an extra two to three hours per day responding to end user needs, making for long days, interrupted nights and constantly playing “catch-up” on their daily tasks. I’m proud to say that my team came to the rescue! We designed a support solution based on infrastructure support (Managed Services) and end user support (Help Desk Services) providing the needed proactive monitoring and management, alleviating the burden on the current staff. After a month passed, I received a note from the IT Director stating that he was able to take a long weekend vacation with his kids and go fishing. He said he wasn’t worried, because he felt confident we were “watching the shop” while he was away. I’m dedicated to supporting my client’s needs and want to introduce them to the absolute best solutions to meet their business requirements. But at the end of the day, it’s just nice to be reminded of WHY I’m doing this - to help people find balance (and happiness) in their lives. My clients should be able to work hard to achieve success professionally and at the same time, be able to experience and enjoy the true fruits of their labor.
