Worked on a team to fully develop and deliver the company’s next version of its flagship product (a completely new, browser-based application) with the goal of eliminating a customer’s need to download a local executable. Daily duties included writing new components (mainly in C++, but also in Java and C#) and cleaning up legacy code. Application was delivered on time, on budget, and soon after put into production.

Developed and implemented calibration and interface tools for a high-precision laser-radar metrology device used in the manufacture of aircraft and automobiles. An example solo project entailed the conversion of the existing video software from DirectX 8.0 to DirectX 9c (using DirectShow and Direct3D) allowing for the placement of video stream capture onto a DX9 surface in order to increase flexibility, speed, and video tuning features. Other completed projects include automated software documentation utilities, debugging and troubleshooting tools, red laser/infrared laser alignment compensation and myriad GUI improvements and enhancements.

Developed and maintained translation/linguistics software. Completed projects include translation API for both C++ and Java (using the Java Native Interface), web page translation utility, database indexing of translated documents, extensive GUI development (MFC, Win32) and formatting translated output using XML and XSL style sheets. Other duties involved installation scripting (Install Shield Professional), enhancing office automation components using MS Visual Basic, and various proprietary housekeeping utilities (e.g. encryption for demo releases).

Assisted in developing global-scope Network Management System using MS Visual C++. Responsibilities included designing and developing a comprehensive GUI interface, building calibration tools for field engineers installing satellite dishes and net modem hubs, programming various diagnostic tools using TCP/IP, SSL, and UDP classes, designing and implementing data retrieval tools against a My SQL database, and contributing to ongoing architectural improvements of enterprise-wide software applications

Developed commercial file security application in a Windows 98 environment. Worked in tandem with an outside contractor, assisted in developing a virtual device driver that allowed for real-time notification of file access violations.
