In 2014 I completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Otago majoring in food science.I am currently working at AsureQuality an IANZ accredited food testing laboratory as a Scientific Analyst in the Microbiology department with my main focus around red meat, poultry, water and shellfish testing. In this role I also act as the NMD Controller for the Auckland laboratory, being a Certified Trainer for both red meat and poultry branches of MPI's NMD programme. In this role I am involved in completing annual reviews of our NMD customers sample takers and assist in the management of the NMD programme implementation and testing at the Auckland laboratory. I am also involved in document updates, implementation of corrective and preventative actions as part of non-conformance reports and technical assistance as part of my wider Scientific Analyst role. In late 2018 I was appointed as a IANZ KTP for a variety of testing methods related to meat, water and shellfish testing including MIMM, APHA and FDA methods.
