• Investigating the cellular interactions between endothelial neuropilins during angiogenesis, utilising genetically engineered knockout mouse models to study retinal vascularisation and tumorigenesis.• Competent at performing aseptic cell culture techniques and cell-based assays with multiple primary and immortalised cell lines, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, fluorescence microscopy including live imaging, and molecular cloning techniques including primer design, PCR amplification, purification, and transformation.• Experience preparing mouse lung and tumour samples for flow cytometry to assess immune profiles.• Experience working with mouse models to Home Office regulations to study developmental and pathological angiogenesis, including the postnatal mouse retina model and cancer models to recapitulate tumorigenesis and experimental metastasis.

Completed a 3 month DTP funded PIPs internship working on a nutrition clinical trial assessing the impact of blueberries on heart health. This post involved daily participant contact, analysis of blood and urine samples, and frequent communications with the clinical research facility nurse team to organise appointments and patient care. Introduced to using Brachial Analyzer to analyse flow mediated dilation (FMD).

• Completed a 3 month research project during placement, using the anti-EGFR mAb cetuximab and biosimilars to functionally assess mAb Fab and Fc region binding within an engineered cancer cell line. -Performed cell line-based ADCC and proliferation assays, writing analytical procedures for performing kit based ADCC and proliferation assays to support department Biosimilar development projects-Supported the development and optimisation of an anti-VEGF discoverX assay kit using monoclonal antibody (mAb) biosimilars.• Trained in GMP client proliferation assay within a cell based assay level 2 laboratory, generating and reviewing data for client batch release sample testing.-Sole trained analyst performing batch release sample testing for second largest GMP client study in department for over 2 months, in addition to supporting assay training of new analysts.• Attended regular client technical calls to review batch release data, communicated regularly with clients to discuss drug product/substance testing windows, batch release deadlines, and data trends.• Supported study manager and study supervisor to review and quality control check batch-release data, release Certificates of Analysis to client, and organise sample testing to meet batch-release windows.-Worked closely with Quality Assurance department to release batch release data to client ahead of deadlines and testing window expiry.• As a lab owner, became responsible for stock checks, reviewing equipment usage and logs, managing internal QA audits and client audits, and responding to eQA comments following audits.
