Specialised in international taxation matters, including but not limited to:- Global Minimum Tax (Pillar Two)- Double taxation conventions- Ascertaining tax residence of persons- Creditability of foreign taxes- The taxation of inbound transactions, including the determination of income arising in Malta and withholding obligations- Application of controlled foreign company rules- Application of anti-hybrid legislation- The taxation of cross-border re-organisations- The taxation of actors in the financial services sector, including credit institutions, insurance undertakings, collective investment schemes, financial intermediaries, and private equity- Ad hoc tax technical matters

I served as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Fall Term of the 16-17 Advanced LL.M. in International Tax Law at the International Tax Center, Leiden. The Fall Term covered modules in the Fundamentals of International Taxation and Double Tax Treaties. As a TA, I was tasked with, among other things:- Assisted the Program Director with the development of course content (such as reading materials and slide decks);- Teaching duties, particularly in the context of class tutorials (on which I focused on: the Integration Systems of Enterprise Taxation; Articles 6, 8 and 13 of the OECD Model Tax Convention, Partnerships and the OECD Model Tax Convention and Anti-abuse Measures in the OECD Model Tax Convention);- One-on-one support (via contact hours) for students enrolled in the Fall Term of program;- Coordinated subject-matter expert input across a large number of jurisdictions in connection with national tax summary entries in a tax textbook;- Supported the ITC's staff in the administration of the academic program;- Assisted with the organisation of an ITC Short Foreign Program.

The Malta MUN Society is an independent, international organization committed to securing close ties among the most diverse of its members, investing in their personal development and nurturing leadership skills, whilst embracing the spirit of the United Nations throughout. It is committed to participating in editions of Model United Nations worldwide as well as providing an easy environment within which members may share their ideas whilst refining a range of valuable professional skills. During my time as a member of the Executive Board of the Society, I served in three different roles:As Founding President I was tasked with the legal, administrative and technical functions of the organisation. My duties included the chairing of board meetings, devising of strategies, policy direction, as well as coordinating with external bodies and persons for the furtherance of the aims of the Society.As Financial Officer I was responsible for the maintenance of bank accounts, ledgers, financial statements and tax returns.As Strategic Officer I was tasked with overseeing the formulation of a medium-term policy regarding the future development of the organisation, in particular ensuring the sustainability of legacy events and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders.

I was a founding member of the Junior Chamber of Advocates, a subcommittee of the Malta Chamber of Advocates. During my time as a member of the Executive Board, my responsibilities included the drafting and implementation of the statute, the oversight of internal organisation of the subcommittee, preparation of minutes and public relations.
