I've worked as a software engineering intern for Lockheed three summers now. I’ve had a variety of experiences, and got to do what I love!

A step higher from the mentoring role in Galileo, I now mentor a group of mentors (who will be mentoring incoming freshman). These mentors come from both Galileo and Hypatia (men and women engineers). In my role, I guide the mentors through this experience by reviewing weekly reports about their mentees, having weekly meetings to talk about their experiences, and to simply act as another guide. I care deeply about individual mental health in the community - college can be very stressful in many ways. One of my goals is to always provide an environment where I can be restorative and ensure the mental health of my mentors and their mentees. I am passionate about development, whether it be professional or personal, I love to be an influence and to see people grow.

Within the CEED program at Virginia Tech, I lived in a community of other engineers called Galileo. In their freshman year, students get to have a mentor for the beginning of the year. These mentors are sophomores who decided to remain in the Galileo community. During my freshman year, I was given the opportunity to apply for this position myself. In the second half of my freshman year, I had mentoring training and in the first semester of sophomore year, I was able to serve as a mentor to a group of freshman in the Galileo program.The mentoring role served as a connector between high school and college. I was there to guide my mentees through the school, providing them with any information or help they need, from where their class is to talking about homesickness or study habits or even professional help.

Day to day tasks involved typical IT tasks and system maintenance. During my internship I proposed to work on a web based platform for tracking *dies. At the end of my time there, I was able to deliver a functional content management system for die tracking. This was my first real project both in the professional world and with web development. Previously I had little to no experience in web based systems, and I was able to learn a lot with this project. A student lead class on leadership run through Hanover County Public Schools and University of Richmond. The purpose is to gain leadership skills through the emerging leaders class by hosting various events and fund raisers to support an organization of choice. My class chose to support Hanover Safe Place, and organization to help people who are under domestic violence, all proceeds from our fundraisers were donated to them.

For 3 years I was captain of controls (electrical and programming) on the robotics team at my school (Freshman - Junior) and in my Senior Year I became the overal captain

At the Cyber Security competition held by GE, I along with my team "blue bacon foo" got 1st place twice and 2nd place once.

Summer job, worked in stock, shipping, customer service, supervised saturday stock team (Saturdays were heaviest in terms of customers)
