This role means that I am the first point of contact when somebody calls for an ambulance. This involves completing a triage to assess the patients symptoms and then arranging the appropriate help they require. Depending on the situation the triage can become time critical and essential life saving interventions need to be given until the ambulance arrives. This also involves working as part of a larger team within the control centre and liaising with other agencies/ambulance services when required.

Metaltech Precision Engineers is a strategic supplier of precision machined components and sub assemblies. In my role as part of the production team I have been responsible for the creation and updating of job packs, that assist the machine operators to locate the required tools and equipment allowing them to set the machine to the required specification for each job. As this has developed further I am now tasked with training other colleagues on how the Job packs are generated. I have also been responsible for reviewing products that have exceeded their planned production times. This involves the identification of the jobs and conducting an investigation as to why the times have been exceeded, then feeding this back to the other members of the production team and senior managers so that a suitable solution can be concluded. Alongside the identification of overrunning jobs I also carry out component audits to identify if the planned times are correct and where necessary upon evaluation adjust the times accordingly with the ultimate aim to not only improve the efficiency of the machines but also the scheduling system by reducing the volume of scrap components and increasing tool life combined with maximizing the profit on each product batch.My other duties in keeping with the company demands have been the operation and setting a variety of CNC milling machines, along with making deliveries to customers and sub contractors in the company van.
