I started my career by joining the Royal Air Force straight from School, I served for over 12 years and deployed to lots of places all over the world until I took my career onto Civilian life and started working for Edge Hill University leading a team within the Campus Support Security Department. I have learned a great deal of skills over my time in the Military and at Edge Hill, I have excellent organisational skills and have managed several teams successfully through a multitude of tasks. I have a great deal of experience in a variety of roles which include, Mental Health awareness and First Aid, general First aid at work, access control systems, alarm monitoring and CCTV systems. I have a good working knowledge of a variety of computer based systems including Microsoft office, Stores accounting systems, warehousing and distribution.I particularly enjoy the interaction with customers which in my current role is diverse. Working with my Team we provide varied services to Students, Staff and Visitors to the university 24/7. This includes Emergency response for any matter of emergency whether it be Medical, Mental Health, Fire or first aid. we provide 24/7 preventative maintenance cover, site security and safety, car park and traffic management to name but a few.I enjoy a number of different hobbies and pastimes with my family and friends, I am a keen motorcyclist and Mechanic. I have ran my own side business providing Mobile vehicle servicing which was becoming very successful until Covid struck. My family and I go on regular camping trips and love the outdoors, we have a particular interest in animals with our house at times being more like a petting zoo, we care for many animals such as Rabbits, Birds, Guinea Pigs, Reptiles and of course the family Dog.
