-Served as a Platoon Sergeant, directly supervising 5 LPNs, 3 psychiatric technicians and as many as 20 EMT-B's in a stateside environment. Was responsible for ensuring all medical training, proficiency testing and continuing education requirements for all levels of licensing was completed in a timely manner. Served as primary instructor in multiple classroom and field training environments covering a large variety of topics. Was directly responsible for the pre-deployment training of all assigned individuals as well as incorporating another 75 to 200 personnel into training events. Served as responsible agent for over $1.5 million worth of medical equipment and supplies. Coordinated with resident Special Forces units in the transferring of medical equipment, saving an estimated $500,000 in purchases. Was selected to create, develop and implement a Force Protection/Anti-terrorism system needed to protect a Combat Support Hospital with a footprint of nearly 15 acres.-Deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I from September 2003 until February 2004. Worked as team leader and staff nurse for the combined Medical-Surgical ward, serving US Soldiers, Civilians, and Contractors, Allied forces and Iraqi Government, Police and Military Forces. Patient loads ranged as high as 12 patients and included burn patients, shrapnel wounds, medical emergencies and brain injuries. Duties included patient care, preparation for evacuation or return to duty, coordination with Air Force Evacuation Officers, transferring care to local Iraqi Hospitals, and direct Patient education or education thru an interpreter.
