As a Claims Department Manager my main job is to support my team by being a coach, advocate, and “go to” to meet their needs. My scope includes 9-12 Claims Supervisors at a time, their staff, Claims Analysts, along with future leaders in training. In addition to supporting my team, I work with Senior leadership to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and develop compliance and integrity reporting for the countrywide claims team. By working on these initiatives, I directly impact our staffing, workflow, compliance, and quality assurance for claims handling. I am also involved in succession planning by mentoring, coaching, and placing our future leaders in the Management Development Program at GEICO. I am responsible for, and consistently deliver, top quartile results in all claims metrics while keeping customer service and quality claim file handling at the forefront.

As a Claims Supervisor I coached, mentored, and supported a team of claims adjusters in negotiating third party bodily injury settlements along with investigating coverage, liability, and damages. Thoroughly versed in working with attorney represented clients, I would mitigate risk and exposure to the company and our clients through speedy and equitable resolution of claims. Experienced with addressing inquires into claims files from the CA Department of Insurance, I was responsible for delivering high quality claim files.

As a Claims Examiner I reviewed and resolved a wide assortment of claims encompassing coverage, liability, 1st party Med Pay, and third-party Bodily Injury (casualty) claims. I worked closely with vendors, attorneys, and clients to ensure timely and equitable resolutions of claims. I have experience attending and settling claims through in-person mediations, settlement conferences, and small claims court.
