I am a SETSS provider and Head Teacher at the Flushing center. I have worked with various grade levels from Kindergarten through Adult learners. I have worked in 1:1 settings as well as 4:1 settings. Following center policy I implemented center curriculum to aid student learning while keeping management informed on student progress. I utilized both center and personal resources to help aid students in their learning efforts. As Head Teacher I am responsible for helping train new hires, as well as aiding teachers with how to implement the curriculum.

I was homeroom teacher for the 6th grade class. I was primarily the Social Studies teacher for the entire middle school (grades 5 - 8). I developed the curriculum to the NY State common core standards, those that were developed at the time. I utilized as many resources as possible to give my students as well rounded experience as possible.

Handled grade levels K-5 in class sizes that ranged between 8 – 28 students. Utilized fulltime teachers’ programs and classroom management for maintaining order among students. Successfully developed and implemented lessons (lesson ranging from literacy to science) establishing clear objectives for all lessons and communicating those objectives to students.Conducted lessons for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate. Modified the general education lessons for special-needs students based upon a variety of instructional techniques and technologies.

Handled grade levels 3-5 in class size of 6 students in a self-contained classroom setting. Utilized cooperating teachers’ programs and classroom management plans to maintain familiarity with students. Successfully developed and implemented literacy lessons based on lesson plans that were found via online sources.Integrated classroom technology into lessons through use of Smart Board.

Provided private instruction to individual student to improve academic performance, and prepare for academic tests for 2-hour periods on a weekly basis. Identified and develop tutoring plans based on students’ individualized education plan (IEPs), and needs expressed by both the students and parents.Successfully administered, proctor, and score assessments used to gauge student’s abilities in both reading and math both before and after tutoring services were given. Developed training materials, such as handouts, study materials, or quizzes.Maintain records of students’ assessment results, progress, and feedback, ensuring confidentiality of all records.Communicate students’ progress to students and parents through written progress reports and in person.

Maintained center policies by keeping records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities.Helped student’s educational development, by aiding individual students with summer review lessons that they provided.Organize and participated in literary lessons and activities to be incorporated into weekly themes. Such as The Mystery of the Classroom, and Science All Around Us for a changing student group that ranged in ages from seven (7) to thirteen (13) years old.Established reputation and connections with students by encouraging student group supporting student’s emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.Discipline children and initiate measures to control behavior, such as caring for and picking up toys and books
