spent over 20 years working in Public Safety more specifically community corrections front line as well as staff training and staff management the last 10 years including change management. I was actively involved in unionized positions (including sub local vice president) during this time which provided experience in labour relations, negotiations, job classifications etc. I started a new career path in Feb 2019 in Human Resources and worked both as a Human Resource Consultant and then as an Employee Relations Consultant with SNB up until May 2022 providing support and assistance to other HRCs among many other duties and responsibilities. May 2022 I accepted a seconded position with Dept of Justice and Public Safety as the Employee Relations Manager and recently accepted this position on a permanent basis. This unit within HR includes two Employee Relations Consultants, a Disability Management Co-ordinator as well as a Disability Management Consultant. The team provides support to HRCs, Management as well as Senior Leadership on Employee related matters included but not limited to progressive discipline, attendance management, performance management, grievance processes, accomodations , worksafe related matters as well as long term disabiity etc.
