I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology with a concentration in ecology, evolution, and conservation. My work in ecology involved aquatic zooplankton/lake sampling, forest surveys with species identification, and statistical analysis of species densities and distribution. Additionally, I gained experience performing statistical analysis using Excel and R studio software.I collaborated with a professor at SIUE on an independent research project studying the effects of leaf litter on salamander development in southern Illinois. Through this research, I gained experience in experiment organization and design, effective communication with experts, and presenting project outcomes clearly and accurately. I also honed my skills in accurately recording and inputting data into field notes and statistical software in the lab.Beyond my academic and research endeavors, I was an active member of the SIUE Bassmaster club. This experience has greatly improved my communication skills, especially in negotiating financial matters and building collaborative relationships with sponsors. These experiences have prepared me to seek funding for future research projects and collaborate effectively with others in the field.
