I held successive positions at Birch Bay State park, including Park Aide, Senior Park Aide and Park Ranger. I those positions, I conducted resource maintenance and restoration efforts. I patrolled the park to endure visitor safety and resource preservation. I maintained and repaired buildings and other facilities. I supervised the activities of multiple Park Aides.

I was invited to be the first international faculty member of the first Sport and Leisure department at a university in Japan. I taught a variety of courses including Sport, Leisure and community development, and Special events management to Japanese students and faculty. I conducted and co-published research related to Leisure in Japan.

I taught a variety of courses including Community recreation, Community development, Outdoor recreation, Recreation management, Budgeting and Leadership. I advised students on how to make successful progress toward graduation and employment. Conducted, presented and published research on how low-income families were trying to navigate their daily lives. I was involved in community development projects in a local low-income neighborhood.

I managed the daily operations of a culturally diverse, multi-program, non-profit social service agency. I coordinated local and statewide development efforts. I supervised program staff and volunteers. I served and the interim Executive Director.

I recruited, placed, and supervised 12-month full-time volunteers in non-profit social service agencies in Sacramento, San Jose and San Francisco, CA. I organized and led educational and developmental workshops/retreats for the volunteers who were primarily recent college graduates. I provided informal personal counseling, small group facilitation and conflict mediation support and assistance.

I worked in a full-time domestic volunteer program that serves disenfranchised populations. I worked in three positions during my two year experience. Peace and Justice Educator at St. Luke's school in Woodburn, OR.I planned, organized and taught peace and justice issues to children in K-8th grade.I tutored children in grades 1st - 78th grade.I coached boys and girls after school sports.Special projects Coordinator at Standing Together Against Rape in Anchorage, AKI developed and published a quarterly newsletter that addressed sexual assault issues in Alaska.I co-presented workshops and in-service trainings that focused on sexual harassment and sexual assault issues. I trained sexual assault hotline volunteer.Homeless Shelter Assistant at the Brother Francis Shelter in Anchorage, AKI provided informal counseling, on-going support and assistance to a diverse homeless population in a shelter that could house up to 300 people a night. I gave educational presentations and assisted in fundraising for the shelter.
