Global Category Lead for all Third Party desktop software and hardware procurement for the group -software licensing for key business tools, cloud services, professional services/consultancy, PCs and mobile devices, disposal of assets at end of life, document hardware and other infrastructure.Responsibilities:• End-to-end management of the Distributed Software and Hardware category for the group• Working directly with major enterprise IT suppliers including Microsoft, Dell, HP, Apple, IBM, Adobe, Symantec in addition to many others• Developing and implementing a category plan and sourcing strategies • Supplier management including performance, risk and relationship management• Leading all procurement activity and sourcing exercises for the category e.g. tenders, e-auctions, commercial negotiations and benchmarking, including use of e-sourcing systems• Stakeholder management – senior stakeholder engagement, driving increased procurement influence across the group including working with peers and stakeholders across the world• Broad supply market knowledge, negotiation of T&Cs, contract management, managing and reporting on supply chain risk, supporting IT asset management practices • Proactively managing CSR issues in the supply chain, e.g. compliance with WEEE and ISO directives and sustainable procurement practicesAchievements:• Delivered £multiM of bottomline opex reductions and cost avoidances • Significant supplier rationalisation• Renegotiated a Global Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft, achieving optimised commercials and aligning licensing strategy to best practice reflect evolving IT strategy and Microsoft’s product Roadmap• Established new group-wide software reseller • Successfully facilitated procurement penetration into new spend areas, extending our central agreements to get maximum value from our existing supply base• Created and embedded new supplier governance approach for the category suppliers
