In November, 2022 I was promoted to Investigator in the Criminal Investigations Division of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. In this role I am responsible for investigating criminal cases such as fraud, theft, sexual offenses, assault and battery. These investigations require the ability to conduct interviews and interrogations, observation skills, report writing skills, attention to detail, courtroom testimony skills, critical thinking, case management skills, and more. In this role I utilize microsoft office and a multitude of computer skills each day. Time management and case management is critical in this role.

After serving as a Deputy Sheriff in the Uniform Patrol Division at Walton County Sheriff’s Office for two years, I was promoted to Senior Deputy Sheriff. As a Senior Deputy Sheriff I continued to perform the everyday task of a Deputy, but was also assigned as a Field Training Officer for new Deputies coming to Uniform Patrol. In this role I would train new hires how to essentially perform their Law Enforcement duties the safest way possible all while operating within the Sheriff’s Office Standard Operating Procedures. I would teach trainees things such as de-escalation techniques, operating a police vehicle in emergency capacity while using due regard for the traffic around them, proper report writing, interpersonal skills, and many more.

As a Deputy Sheriff I transferred to the Uniform Patrol Division of Walton County Sheriff’s Office. In this role, I answered calls for service to the public as a law enforcement officer. I responded to calls such as traffic accidents, domestic disputes, vehicle inspections, suspicious persons/vehicles, etc. Along with answering calls for service, I also conducted traffic enforcement, narcotics investigations, funeral escorts, personal security, crime scene security, and much more. Along with performing theses tasks, reports were written for each task completed and each contact with the citizens of Walton County.

As a jailer I was responsible for maintaining order in the jail, ensuring quality of life for the inmates, and maintaining safety protocols for all individuals in the facility. As a jailer I also served as a training officer, training new hires to the facility.
