He worked for 22 years in the USA, specialising in contaminated site investigation, remedial options assessment, and remediation oversight for contaminated land, water and sediment projects. He worked in a regional government role in Christchurch for over five years interacting with industries, land developers, district councils and the New Zealand central government. His strong technical capabilities were used to support decision-making around challenging issues such as passive discharge to groundwater, Hazardous Activities and Industries List (HAIL) site identification, monitoring of unlined landfills, and improving the Listed Land Use Register (LLUR) database.Christopher has strong project management experience, participating in multi-discipline teams involving diverse stakeholders. His background in chemistry, plus years of experience in environmental site investigation and management allow him to move easily amongst regulators, consultants, contractors, scientists and executives. Brett’s extensive experience has been accessed by the University of Canterbury, Chemical Engineering Department where in 2012 and 2013, he taught a portion of their undergraduate Industrial Pollution Control course.
