This has involved establishment of a trunk main management community of practice (CoP) to collaboratively develop our asset management capability in this area. Specific work completed includes developing trunk main walking and inspection approaches, building an overall trunk main asset management improvement plan and putting in place tools to ensure delivery. Leading the Water Infra New Products Group community of practice (CoP) which governs new network asset approvals and drives innovation in Asset Creation and One Supply Chain teams. This CoP has been a multi-award winning at the 2013 and 2014 Severn Trent Water CoP awards. New pipes, valves, hydrants and tees have been brought in as part of an improvement drive for performance and efficiency. Leading the review of company water infrastructure design standards. This work has simplified and clarified design guidance while at the same time facilitating efficiency savings through standard changes.
