High Voltage TechnicianWestern Power 2001 - 2005During my time as a High Voltage Technician, I was responsible for testing of primary plant within the Transmission and Distribution Network. I worked my way up to become the technical Team Leader of the HV Laboratory in 2006, responsible for providing high level technical support and coordination of complex High Voltage testing tasks and faults.Our primary focus within the High Voltage Laboratory was to be responsible for the condition monitoring of Power Transformers, indoor switchboards and circuit breakers, instrument transformers and other high voltage equipment. Our team was also responsible for cable fault finding and location as well as testing of all live line equipment within Western Power.Under my leadership we acquired various test equipment and new technologies, assisting management to make a more informed decision on plant condition.
