As Testing Services Manager/Field Services Coordinator, my current portfolio has several major projects as well as unregulated work challenges within the High Voltage Laboratory and DC Systems. During the last seven years, I led various operational teams and field engineers within the Transmission and Distribution world. By completing my MBA and Masters of Business Leadership, I complimented my practical experience.
I was seconded into this role in December 2011 for seven months. During this time, I led a team of professional operational staff and engineers, responsible for the operational asset management (OAM) of Transmission assets within the Substation world. The OAM team is responsible to provide short term maintenance practices and strategies, high level technical support to the wider business, to assist the maintenance teams delivering the Approved Work Program (AWP). The OAM team is also responsible to provide technical support in asset emergencies to ensure the Network is at minimum risk.
During my time as a High Voltage Technician, I was responsible for testing of primary plant within the Transmission and Distribution Network. I worked my way up to become the technical Team Leader of the HV Laboratory in 2006, responsible for providing high level technical support and coordination of complex High Voltage testing tasks and faults.Our primary focus within the High Voltage Laboratory was to be responsible for the condition monitoring of Power Transformers, indoor switchboards and circuit breakers, instrument transformers and other high voltage equipment. Our team was also responsible for cable fault finding and location as well as testing of all live line equipment within Western Power.Under my leadership we acquired various test equipment and new technologies, assisting management to make a more informed decision on plant condition.
