As the Director of the Technical Engineering group, I am responsible for managing the emergency repair of designated electronic hardware/machines and network systems as well as on-going maintenance (including preventive and interim) of designated systems. I direct all activities of a fully operational technical support department for the purpose of supporting 4 output facility locations (Omaha, NE, St. Louis, MO, and Houston, TX) to ensure they meet all production SLA and client satisfaction. I analyzed potential and/or existing business and/or equipment purchases to determine the feasibility and savings potential. Determined facility, staffing, financial and equipment impact associated with new business and loss of business. I provide direct leadership to the Technical Engineering managers and around 215 technicians at the 4 output solutions facilities.

I drive operational excellence and continuous improvement culture through project leadership, training, and implementation of Lean Six Sigma principles in projects and day-to-day operations for Rasmussen Air and Gas / LDR Energy. Provide leadership responsibility for engineering and technical personnel by establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations. Responsible for all Lean Six Sigma and Shop Management deliverables, which includes but is not limited to the project plan, scope, work breakdown structure, project schedule, risk and issues log, communication plan, roles and responsibilities and project budget.

Manage daily operations for UP mechanical departments Mechanical Operations teams; oversee logistics of broken rail cars and locomotives. Preside over 3 groups – 1) Locomotive Technical Desk, with 5 managers, 2) Temperature & Trending Desk, with 4 managers, and 3) 4 locomotive shops/ service tracks. Council Bluffs Service Unit, St Paul service track, Manson City and Eagle Grove locomotive shops with 6 mid-level managers, and 54 union staff members.Improved the safety, reliability, availability and utilization of the locomotive fleet through detailed processes to address train crew issues in real time and report accurate locomotive & rail car defect information.Planed, direct, and coordinate group 2 process to help reduce the risk of train derailments.Manages daily and monthly analytical reviews of daily line of road failures, problem tickets close outs, burn charts on ticket volume by problem type and response/handle times for group 1&2.Lead and direct all of the facility’s efforts to provide necessary, quality inspections, maintenance, rebuilds, servicing and repairs to locomotives that run through the shop facility daily for group 3.

Assumed two roles - Diagnostic Specialist and Fleet Leader. Supported railroad mechanical personnel with technical troubleshooting/technical sales support and guidance. Performed product management and program management of GE’s RM&D (remote monitoring and diagnostics) systems. Collaborated with engineering teams; developed .com solutions for various models of GE equipment. Separated costs to equip RM&D systems on different models of GE equipment. Authored detailed locomotive troubleshooting guides. Instructor of GE locomotive advance troubleshooting. Traveled extensively to numerous countries, met with customers and product support.

Managed 3 shifts of 50+ union workers at ore/coal docks, “Port of Conneaut.” Loaded and unloaded rail cars at P&C docks. Established crew and shift schedules, designated and planned responsibilities.Adhered to equipment expectations and arranged for maintenance on facility and mobile equipment.

Directly supervised all aspects of facility Maintenance and improvements that included purchases, inventory and quality repairs. Oversaw daily activities, which includes operating a three-pier facility under a budget of ~$7m.Held additional positions as Locomotive Operations Shift Supervisor & Machinist.

As a Bradley fighting vehicle system maintainer, I handled the maintenance and repair of the M2/M3, A2/A3 Bradley fighting vehicle, the M6 Bradley linebacker air defense vehicle and the M-7 Bradley fire support team vehicle.
