This was an imbalanced classification problem. This included the usage of LightGBM, hyperparameter tuning with Optuna and feature selection with Probatus.- A bespoke market segmentation project for several years of 25% of home insurance data in the UK. This included the usage of Gaussian Mixture Models, DBSCAN and HDBSCAN with an emphasis on explainability of the segments achieved with decision trees and SHAP.- Built an inhouse infrastructure based on FastAPI, for quickly generating fully-functional APIs and their code clients (SDKs), for machine learning model deployment, with a few arguments on the command line.- Extensive research into column-oriented databases and a comparison between DuckDB and PostgreSQL which resulted in drastic speed ups of the computation time in the queries of MLP's pricing analytics product, Intelligent Pricing.- Propensity to Claim/the MLP Score: A product for predicting how likely a policy is to make a claim in the next 12 months, obtainable through a simple API enrichment call for any client signed with MLP or their partners. I was involved in model development (imbalanced classification), their feature selection, and developing the API.
