Engineering Manager - Post Irradiation Examinations
CurrentI currently manage a team of test engineers and scientists, responsible for the delivery of radioactive material performance data used to develop fleet performance and new design limits. • Lead a team of test engineers responsible for the development and execution of various irradiated materials testing campaigns for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program• Responsible for the accountability and criticality control of all nuclear material located within the Radioactive Materials Laboratory (RML)• Managed the documentation of organizational structures and local processes, including roles and responsibilities, work planning requirements, asset management, operating procedures, qualification standards, and equipment development and deployment requirements• Reformed the Nuclear Materials Operations organization to streamline decision making, maximize talent utilization, and eliminate stove piping• Established the first domestic delayed hydride cracking test capability for highly irradiated materials• Developed and currently executing the plan to increase the RML metallography testing capacity from 150 prepared surfaces per year to 350 surfaces per year, supporting the corrosion, delayed hydride cracking, structural component, fuel and poison product lines
