From a young age I have always found great pleasure in creating and building things. Growing up I would spend hours drawing, focusing on tiny intricate details which would come together to form stunning finished pictures. In high school and college I discover that I gained that same sense of accomplishment through programming. Writing complex and complicated code that form applications which not only visual, but are interactive and useful is even more rewarding.At National Instruments I have the opportunity to work as a Senior Software Engineer on Analyst-MP, a software package used for building multiphysics applications like particle accelerators and waveguides. I design and code UI's, CAD tools, and other features which are not only cutting edge and exciting, but give other engineers the tools they need to create their own passion projects. Highlights include working directly with partners to design UI's from scratch that solve complicate problems, while being intuitive. Building CAD tools which make manipulating 3D structures simple. And managing suites of automated UI test to ensure the product works as intended. I still also get to draw, being to primary icon designer, and even developing the product's original logo.Recently I have discovered that the business and management side of the industry is also of great interest to me. I find that having more high level design input, like speaking with customers and deciding on features and strategy, can be even more rewarding. This inspired me to earn my Master's of Engineering Management degree at MSOE, to expand my future opportunities in both the business and software industries. In the program I developed a business plan and implementation strategy for a new software app -- a completely new and exciting undertaking for me. But its still not enough to satiate my need to create, in my free time I have begun teaching myself app development and wood working.
