Designed and successfully advised on several enabling unit operations to allow for the success of a novel plastics pyrolysis technology.

-Perform mark-ups on drawings to be sent for drafting of electrical equipment for boiler systems.-Compile a bill of materials in accordance with customer, NFPA, CSA, UL, ANSI/ASME, etc. specifications.-Modify and create programs for boiler management systems in RSLogix 500/5000.-Perform factory acceptance testing on boiler management systems and control pannels.

-Independently design experiments and present results involving oligomerization of ethylene to petroleum products.-Brainstorm, design, and experiment with downstream separation processes such as distillation and solvent extraction.-Design, update, and improve designs on reactors to convert ethylene to petroleum products.-Characterize products using GC FID/TCD.-Carry out experiments to establish process conditions, reactor metrics, and variability for ethylene oligomerization.-Extensive spreadsheet work for large and difficult to manage data sets. -Catalyst preparation, loading, and handling.-Maintain an organized lab space and inventory of gasses, chemicals, and parts.-JMP statistical analysis of experiment data.

-Experience with operation, maintenance, and calibration of CHN/S, calorimeters, thermogravimetric analysers, Parr reactor systems, GC-FID, rheometers, inert furnaces, pellet durability testers, and pelletizers. -Worked less extensively with FTIR, ICAP, and XRF but understand principles and have performed set-up and maintenance of instruments. -Managed a research project concerning processing of bio residues into fuels, designed several pilot systems, and handed off the project to engineering team for execution. -Experience setting up gas distribution systems, plumbing, and electrical for use with instrumentation. -Designed and built several lab-scale reactor systems for thermochemical processing of biomass.-Researched and purchased several different instruments for characterization of biofuels.-Work mostly hands-on but also have implemented several automated data collection scripts using both Matlab and Excel.-Spent two months living in Chandigarh, India in order to train employees and establish a working laboratory that follows western standards of practice. -Returned to India for several weeks and successfully completed a pilot scale-up experiment dealing with water treatment of biomass.

Researched the way ions are accelerated in the Earth's magnetosphere. Specifically looked for plasma particles accelerated with Alfven waves. Became familiar with the IDL computer language. Successfully databased fifteen years worth of data collected for the Fast Auroral Snapshot (FAST) satellite mission and analyzed the results to procure surface plots of the ion densities at the poles of the Earth. Coordinated with another satellite mission (REIMEI) in Japan looking for similar ionic phenomena.
