• Coordinates subsurface exploration programs and drilling activities including specifications for proposed test borings (soil sampling and rock coring), test pit investigations, infiltration testing, and other types of sampling. • Prepares, develops, and administers subsurface boring, sampling, and testing contract (SBSTC) documents following Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation (PennDOT), and Pennsylvania Turnpike design manuals;• Conducts field reconnaissance of project sites for geologic conditions, site accessibility and existing conditions of pavement, bridges, culverts, and other pertinent features;• Conducts subsurface investigations via soil borings, rock corings, auger probes, excavated test pits, and double-ring infiltration testing;• Responsible for preparation and writing of geotechnical engineering reports (including PGER, RSGER, etc.) for wide range of highway improvements. • Provide project management of several projects at a given time by overseeing and reviewing the quality of various daily field reports and correspondences sent to clients for projects within EEI’s Inspection Services Division;• Responsible for writing geotechnical investigation reports, preliminary, supplemental, and full reports for wide range of projects; including related plates, figures, maps, site plans, boring logs, profiles, test pits, infiltration logs, and lab results, along with recommendations and conclusions within EEI's Geotechnical Investigation Division;• Write bid proposals and unit cost estimates for potential new projects within Geotechnical Investigation and Inspection Divisions;• Conduct subsurface investigations via excavated test pits, soil borings, auger probes, rock corings, percolation and infiltration testing, soil bearing capacity testing, and other means;• Conduct thorough geotechnical investigations and provide recommendations to clients regarding the repair of various types of subsurface soil cavities and sinkhole features using standard excavating techniques, compaction & pressure grouting programs, and/or inverted rock filter methods;• Provide overall construction quality assurance and geotechnical consulting by inspecting, testing and documenting various construction aspects of commercial and residential development projects for clients in the private and government sectors;• Conduct laboratory analysis of the physical properties of soil and aggregate materials for engineering purposes. Laboratory soils and aggregate testing include: particle size distribution analysis, liquid limit & plasticity index determination, proctor analysis, natural moisture, and soil and aggregate classification as per ASTM codes, USCS, and standards and PennDOT Specifications;

• Assisted Mapping Conversion team by contributing to several GIS operations to the NSTAR Electric South Landbase Conversion project using ESRI’s ArcGIS software package and various source materials for assisting the identification of customer addresses, utility easements, and street right-of-ways (ROWs);• Interpreted and converted information from cadastral maps, existing customer data, GDT data, and digital orthophotographs to the landbase GIS geodatabase;• Procedures performed include: address annotation, generation and editing of street centerlines and street edge corrections, attributing road widths and names, creation of missing building footprints, parcel corrections, identified ROWs and easements, importing of coverages, and backing up of data to geodatabases.
