Software engineer for the pricing services teamBuilt several microservices using Dropwizard in Java. Examples include adateless pricing service, a Redis indexer, and reader service for a Cassandra databaseReplaced in memory Apache Ignite pricing service with an AWS ElastiCache Redis cluster. Before this change the in memory solution could not be started up locally and took a day to deploy.Supported price consistency by owning adoption of the dateless price from end to end. This involved making changes to Node GraphQL servers and other clients. Built a gRPC pricing service in java to act as the front door to all pricing concerns at Vrbo. This unified different pricing concerns spread across the company.

Supported development for Vrbo search servers. Responsible for setting up alarms for production systems to monitor health and status using Splunk, DataDog, and PagerDuty. Responsible for creating A/B test features such as Expanded SearchMigrated search service from tech debt items such as, in house deserializer/serializer to Jackson and Jersey 1 to Jersey 2.Added resilience to search services by utilizing Resilience4j circuitbreakers and retry kafka topics

Development of the Madden Mobile game.Incorporated new features for a scalable Java server for Madden Mobile distributed on AWS. Developed circuit breaker for Facebook log in sessions using authentication tokens. The circuit breaker activated when 50% of Facebook users failed to login over a set period of time to prevent slowdown in servers.Developed new REST API methods for posting and receiving data on the Java app server using Velocity, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, CSS, AJAX, MySQL, and HTML to provide a web interface for users to interact with.Developed tools in C#/.NET and Visual Studio to port mobile game assets from XML files to a new content management system.Built Docker images for java servers and used Packer to build virtual machines. Participated in bug sprints for release. Work consisted of tracking down bugs that crashed Madden Mobile or introduced unwanted behavior.

Development and maintenance for the Apache aircraft simulator, using visual studio in C++, for a year for Lockheed Martin as an intern. Also, worked on support tools for the apache using Java. Security clearance granted.Development of concurrent C++ multi-threaded programs in a Linux environment for a multi functional missile pod using Google coding standards by creating GTests. The environment also required knowledge of CMake text files.Development of command line tools using Python to automate workflow and quality tests. The tools developed used Python’s argparse and subprocess modules. Created tools to automate git pushes.Developed testing tools in Bash and in Python for checking integrity of data.Development of command line tools in Python to edit files and push changes to GitLab.
