Assistant Store Manager – This is a 2IC role and I have had to run the store for extended periods of time in the Store Managers absents. In my role as Assistant Store Manager I support the Store Manager in the day to day operations of the store. These include the management of staff, dealing with customers, stock ordering and receiving, following up on emails and complete both weekly and monthly reports, and running the sales floor. I am key holder for the store and also arrange the store banking requirements. I opened new opportunities by cold calling for new business and building good relationships with trade customer. At Jaycar Electronics I coach staff in their understanding of the business operations and to make the most out of every sale. I have implemented some in store training procedures for both sale techniques and the sharing of product knowledge. I have performed job interviews for new employees and coordinated students coming in on work placement. During sale periods I have to create a new merchandising map for the store and see its implantation.
