Personal Injury Claims Handler
I moved to the bodily injury department in September 2010 where I started as a Stage 1 MOJ handler. My main role was to establish liability. I have a wide range of liability experience from non fault, split and fault liability settlements. I also had to ensure that my reserving was accurate to ensure that policy pricing was accurate for renewals. In this role I dealt with post and diary on a daily basis as well as taking inbound and making outbound calls to Policyholders, third parties, third party insurers, police, solicitors etc.I have also had experience with MOJ Stage 2 work. Negotiating settlement with solicitors actioning Schedule of losses and concluding claims before they reach the MOJ Stage 3 litigation process.I am now currently working as a Bodily Injury Direct Consultant. This is where I deal directly with the injured parties without the need for them to have legal representation. My role involves building a relationship with the claimant, dealing with their claim from cradle to grave. I keep regular contact with them to keep track of their recovery, offering rehabilitation services and medical examinations in order for us to be able to compensate them fairly. This is a role that I particularly enjoy as it gives you the satisfaction in knowing that you have helped somebody through a difficult period in their life and that you have gained their trust and that you have settled their claim quickly and fairly.I started as a Non- Fault claims handler in December 2006. My duties were to establish liability and recover all outlay from third party insurer's.I seconded as a team leader for the Non-fault department for 2 months managing a team of 10 people and attending management meetings. I enjoyed this position and learnt a lot from the time I spent in this role however i feel that I am most competent as a claims handler.
