    -Employed as part of research team to solve problem of power loss when connecting Photonic Crystal Fibres (PCF)-Independently designed and used an experimental set-up to prove a colleague’s theory that would provide a solution to the problem-Worked independently with a 8W Nd:YAG LASER and learned techniques in optical alignment and magnification-Collected and analysed self-gathered data, which was crucial in solving the underlying problem of PCF connections-The results of my work were presented at international Photonics Conference: ‘SPIE Photonics Europe '10, Brussels’.
