As Chief Officer – Risk Assessment, Fire Safety & New Technology, my achievements are:o Coordinating large-scale and complex projects while conducting extensive research in various subjects permitting comprehensive, validated decision-making. o Managing Public Transportation Safety Board (PTSB) interactions regarding the Request for Information (RFI) process for both NYCT and MTA C&D. Organize PTSB site visits and RFI’s for new C&D projects pertaining to NYCT and coordination of PTSB’s interactions and RFI’s for procurement of New Technology Subway Cars.o Incorporate new technology into the revised capital projects, including but not limited to Technology Train Subway Cars (R-211, R-179, R-160, R-143, R-142/142A) and wayside right-of-way equipment (Communication Based Train Control, Continuous Welded Rail, Electrical Systems, etc.). o Other initiatives utilizing new or emerging technologies within NYCT such as Open-Gangway Train Cars, Platform Screen Doors, Wide Aisle Gate Pilot, Battery Electric Bus Introduction, Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Bus Pilot, Customer Service Centers, LIDS/TIDS intrusion detection systems, etc. are also being reviewed and analyzed for safety concerns/mitigations for future incorporation into the NYCT system.o Coordinate safety engineering review and acceptance of Mega Projects, such as the Second Avenue Line (both Phase I and II), and upgrades of Canarsie Tube, Cranberry, Joralemon Tube, Rutgers, Montague Tunnel, ADA Elevator & Escalator initiatives, and Steinway Tubeo Safety review and acceptance of the on-going Sandy Recovery/Resilience projects and coordinating with operating department engineering units regarding engineering investigations due to incidents related to right-of-way structural safety.o Review of documentation regarding facility safety, FDNY permitting, interagency coordination and code interpretation.
