Christopher Clouder FRSA, educational consultant and lecturer, is Chair of the Alliance for Childhood - European Network Group based in Brussels. He was the founding Director of the Botin Platform for Innovation in Education, based in Santander in Spain, which worked to promote social and emotional education and creative learning in educational practice across the world. He is also member of the International Forum for Steiner Education and in an associate of the Learning for Well-being Community based in Brussels. He is presently active in an EU Horizon/COST programme concerned with family welfare EUROFAMNET. He was the co-founder and is active, mainly in Brussels, of the Alliance for Childhood, which is a global network of advocates for the quality of childhood. From 1989 to 2012 he was the founding CEO of the European Council for Steiner Waldorf Education and he spoke for 670 European Steiner schools in 26 countries as well as co-ordinating the European wide activities of its member associations.. He was also the executive chairman of of the Steiner Waldorf Schools Fellowship for the UK and Ireland from 1991 until 2010. He is now active in setting up an international Waldorf/Steiner parents network ENSWAP.Previous to this he taught adolescents for 6 years in the state system in the UK and the Netherlands, where he was instrumental in founding a Waldorf school, and then for 18 years in Steiner Waldorf schools in England. He was a visiting lecturer at Plymouth University for 18 years. He writes and gives public lectures widely throughout Europe and globally on contemporary educational matters, such as social and emotional education, play and imagination, an arts rich curriculum, contemporary social issues, arts and health, art history and cultural evolution. He gives many key-note presentations and lectures at conferences, universities and teacher education courses, as well as acting as a consultant for Steiner and other innovative schools.
