Managed network operating systems (i.e. Windows NT, UNIX, and Novell Netware) utilizing infrastructure (i.e. cabling, throughput, connectivity, I/O devices, and topologies). Implemented a variety of protocols, services, and standards such as TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, NetBEUI stacks, Internet (http, ftp, telnet, SMTP), and X.400/500.; Designed hardware and software to work in concert taking into consideration compatibility, environmental constraints, growth potential, life cycle management, cost/performance analysis, and user feedback. Performed hardware and software installation and testing. Performed management and maintenance functions including inventory control of computer assets, software and configuration management, user training, and help desk management.Served as the activity's accreditation action officer and principal advisor for all command INFOSEC matters. Analyze and evaluate system security technology, policy, and training requirements in support of National, DOD, and DON INFOSEC, policies. Maintain activity INFOSEC plans. Developed system security plans. Managed microcomputer peer-to-peer network and microcomputer/ mainframe network integration. Implemented network connection and conducted preliminary training on access methods. Managed/maintained internal site networks to include but not limited to NETWARE, UNIX and WINDOWS NT. Managed system Life Cycle and Automated Information System (AIS) security implementation. Supervised corrective actions to ensure maximum system availability. Assessed protocol and proxy service vulnerabilities and their relation to firewalls. Developed and implemented solutions, with regard to protocol and proxy service vulnerabilities, guarding against hostile attempts of compromise or inadvertent disclosure of sensitive material. Verified and wrote Access Control Lists (ACL) and programs screening routers.
