When I reflect back on my childhood, I realize how my favorite activities point toward what I would do as a career. Since I was a small child, I was always building. Wood blocks, Lego, cardboard, wood scraps, blankets, whatever medium was in front of me I molded into a building. I loved to construct, and to watch buildings as they were raised. I was constantly involved in some sort of construction project in my parent’s yard; ever evolving over time. In my seventh grade mechanical drawing class, I completed three drawings a day when other students were completing one a week. I have always been interested in technology, particularly how it could be used to visualize space. I questioned why buildings are energy consumers and not energy producers.When it came time to go to college, I thought, “Let me see what this Architecture thing is all about.” I was in the program one month, and knew there was nothing else I wanted to do. My goals were set: Get my Bachelors of Architecture, obtain a license to practice Architecture, and start my own firm. This is how the firm came into existence.We have been in business since 2002; working on creating exciting buildings and dynamic spaces. In 2009, I decided to expand into Green Building Design and became a LEED accredited professional.
